See more about this project

Do you know what kind of food you like the most? Maybe it will be a main dish or maybe it will be a desert. My favorite food is a kind of famous dish in Taiwan, called “Ba Bao Bing” or “eight treasures ice.”

By the name, you may wonder why the food’s name is “eight treasures” ice. Let me tell you a brief story and you will realize what it is.

3000 years ago in China, the emperor Chou decided to crusade against the emperor Shang. Chou recruited eight people who were significant figures in their areas. In the end, the 8 people helped Chou conquer the Shang dynasty. For this reason, the emperor Chou gladly bestowed a rare dish upon the eight people in celebration.

Overall, the main concept of the exhibition is a traditional chinese food with a special treasure.

Its most important ingredient is the story that led to the creation of this historic dish. Another important part of the exhibition is the educational element that informs visitor of the significance of the number eight in Chinese culture.
